An aromatase inhibitor (brand name Femara) used as a fertility medication to stimulate ovulation, particularly in patients with PCOS.
In IVF Treatment
Letrozole is first-line ovulation induction for PCOS. It is also used in mini-IVF protocols and sometimes before standard IVF stimulation. It has fewer side effects and lower multiple pregnancy risk than Clomid.
