Microsurgical Epididymal Sperm Aspiration(MESA)

A surgical procedure to collect sperm from the epididymis, typically used for obstructive azoospermia.

In IVF Treatment

MESA yields higher numbers of motile sperm than TESE and is used when the testis produces sperm but there is a blockage preventing their release. Retrieved sperm can be frozen for multiple IVF cycles.
