Recurrent Pregnancy Loss(RPL)
diagnosisDefinition
Defined as two or more pregnancy losses. Causes include chromosomal abnormalities, uterine factors, clotting disorders, and hormonal issues.
In IVF Treatment
RPL workup often leads to IVF with PGT-A to select chromosomally normal embryos, particularly if prior losses were due to aneuploidy. Uterine evaluation and immunological testing may also be recommended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will PGT-A stop recurrent miscarriages?
PGT-A can help clinics prioritize embryos with expected chromosome copy-number findings when aneuploidy is suspected as a factor. It cannot ensure transfer success or prevent miscarriage, because recurrent pregnancy loss can have multiple causes and PGT-A alone may not address them.
